Burna Boy in SARS hostage with other robbery suspects

Hip jump artist, Damini Ogulu, otherwise known as Burna Boy, is presently cooling his foot sole areas in the guardianship of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, Lagos State Command.

The troubled artiste has gone through two days with offenders held in a SARS cell for offenses going from burglary to robbery.

He was purportedly being explored for intrigue in the burglary of his associate, Abiye Jumbo otherwise known as Mr. 2Kay.

Burna Boy, who was pronounced needed by the state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, on November 20, was caught on Friday and confined.

Four suspects, including Burna Boy's street chief, Joel Kantiok, had been paraded for purportedly looting Mr. 2Kay on October 22, in his room at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, not long after "Buckwyld N Breathless" show held in the office.

Amid the parade, the suspects, with the exception of Kantiok, admitted to have done the assault on the request of Burna Boy.

The attackers had masked as room benefit authorities to pick up passage into the vocalist's room.

They purportedly beat him up and confiscated him of a wristwatch, gold gems, telephones among different assets assessed at a huge number of naira at gunpoint.

They thusly tied him up and fled with their plunder.

A police source told our journalist on Saturday that the artist was all the while making explanations to analysts.

The source stated, "He is right now in the SARS care and he is helping the police in the examination. For the time being, I can't state completely what his charges will be however unquestionably they are identified with burglary for which alternate suspects were summoned."

Another cop, who is conscious of the case, said Burna Boy's arraignment won't not come up on Monday as arranged, noticing that specialists needed to display watertight charges against him under the watchful eye of the court.

The officer stated, "His announcements are as yet being taken and there are more disclosures. We would prefer not to race to court with charges that will be struck out for absence of proof.

"The substance of arraignment is to secure a conviction by the day's end. That is the thing that we need to guarantee."

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, affirmed that the artiste was being held at SARS, including that the Investigating Police Officer would think of the suitable charges.

"He will be charged to court on Monday," he included.
