FIFA U-17 World Cup: Golden Eaglets Advance To Round Of 16 After Humbling Hosts

The Under-17 defending champions, Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have continued their impressive form to the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile.
They beat the hosts, Chile 5-1 at Estadio SausalitoVina Del Mar on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 as they progressed to the competition’s knockout stage.
Nigeria’s first goal came through Samuel Chukwueze in 30 seconds.
The Nigerian boys got their second goal through Kelechi Nwakali’s penalty after a foul on Chukwueze.
The Eaglet started the second half of the game on a positive note as the Eaglets no. 8, Samuel Chukwueze grabbed his second goal of the game.
For Nigeria’s fourth goal, it was Chukwueze who was once again fouled before no.9, Victor Osimhen stepped up to score a well taken penalty.
Chile then scored a consolation goal through their no 10, Marcelo Allende.
Nigeria however suffered a setback when Funsho Bamgboye was red carded for a blatant foul.
Osimhen then grabbed his third goal of the tournament in two games with a beautiful header and a lovely dance to celebrate the goal.
For the third time in the game, Chukwueze was fouled in the penalty area but Kelechi Nwakali missed the penalty kick this time around.
Nigeria has  now joined Korea Republic in the last 16 of the competition.
